    Bright prospects for development


    Director Gao said that no matter from the development strategy and plan of the country and the industry, or from the development speed of the construction industry, the application of plastic pipes in the construction industry has broad development prospects.


    In terms of production energy consumption, plastic pipes are far lower than other building materials in the production, transportation and use processes, which are 25% and 12.5% ​​of steel and aluminum, respectively. The energy consumption of rigid PVC plastic production is only that of cast iron pipes and 30% -50% of steel pipe. At the same time, due to the smooth surface, plastic water supply pipes can reduce water energy consumption by about 50% compared to metal pipes during use. For example, PVC pipes can save 62% -75% of energy than steel pipes for water supply, and can save energy than cast iron pipes for drainage. 55% -68%.


    In order to further promote the development of the plastic pipe industry, the state has issued the "National Tenth Five-Year Plan of the Chemical Building Materials Industry and the 2010 Development Plan Outline" and related policy documents. According to relevant experts' calculations based on the development plan of the construction industry, during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, the average annual amount of plastic pipeline engineering will exceed 2 million tons, of which the amount of municipal public works and construction projects will reach more than 1.5 million tons. The demand is about 3 billion meters (about 500,000 tons of plastic pipes).
